Recently I've been helping define the art direction for projects I work on, as well as concept design. So it's design thinking first, doing research, defining the i.p, seeing whats already out there. That's before any thumbnailing or rough 3D models are created.
The process now is what ever is fastest to get initial ideas, whether that's using photography or 3D, drawing etc.
Miro has been invaluable not only in research but in reviewing and iterating on concept design. It's also great when you want to collaborate amongst many others as well or discuss ideas in meetings.
The work I did for Neom last year which is currently unreleased to the public. It was a mixture of expressive architectural concept design mixed with researching advanced technology and trying to come up with ways to reduce environmental impact, lower carbon emissions (or absorb carbon in this case) and create a space that was enjoyable to live in.
I have already achieved all my career goals now. The projects I've worked on so far have been beyond anything I could of expected. I've been very lucky to contribute to films like Star Trek, real world projects like Neom, Theme Parks, Virtual Reality etc , I'm happy to continue working on what I currently have coming in.
