Concept Art

Joshua is an expert in hard surface, props and environmental design. His designs are playful, bright and have a futuristic aesthetic. Joshua loves making functional and fun solutions to interesting design problems. We spoke to him about his influences, inspirations and style.

How would you describe your style?

I would say the style I like to work in is a homage to a retro futuristic aesthetic, bright, bold and somewhat playful design exploration.

What is your process for solving design problems for clients?

Generally it’s all about great communication and purposeful conversation. I like to start any job with a long (preferably) in person chat to get an idea of what they’re really trying to achieve and how best we can fulfil that.

Pacer Skins

What were your design influences for the Pacer Game skins?

Biggest design influences for those skins are retro racing livery and branding, as well as some of the graphic work of The Designers Republic.

Who are your biggest artisitic inspirations?

I’m a massive fan of Scott Robertson, Syd Mead and John Liberto at the moment but these things are ever evolving.

What is the project that you are most proud of?

So far I would say I’m proudest of the work that I did for Icebeam games as it was largely self-directed outside of client feedback, and I got to design the whole set of vehicles for their game!
